Who (what) is Cara?

Cara stands for Conversational AI for Rapid Assistance, and she’s here to support you on your journey to becoming a Registered Dietitian. Included in the desktop Study Suite® software, Cara is an AI-powered chatbot designed exclusively to answer your questions about nutrition and dietetics—drawing only from the accurate, trusted materials within the software.

Unlike generic AI bots or online search engines that deliver mixed or conflicting answers, Cara focuses solely on what matters for the RD Exam. Her responses are aligned with the curriculum, ensuring clarity, consistency, and relevance.

Think of Cara as your personal tutor—available 24/7 with evidence-based, RD exam-focused support.

How Cara Works

Internet Connection Required

Cara needs a few seconds to retrieve your answer and requires an internet connection to function properly.

Query Limits Based on Your Plan

Each Study Suite desktop package includes a monthly allotment of queries to Cara. On the first of each month, your query counter resets. Any unused queries do not roll over to the next month.

Tip to Save Credits

Cara treats every message as a query—including greetings and thank-yous. To conserve your credits, consider skipping these in the chat window and just say them aloud.
