Use our desktop software, web apps, and/or mobile apps

Please read this privacy notice carefully, as it will help you understand what we do with the information that we collect.

Desktop Software:

Desktop software, compatible with Mac and Windows computers, is software you install and use on your personal computer.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Personal Information Provided by You. We collect names; phone numbers; email addresses; and mailing addresses.  This personal information is saved securely on our server.  Why?  We use this information to keep track of who is using our software, to prevent unauthorized use of our software, and to quickly locate your account information should you contact us via phone, email, social media channels, and the like.  Can you opt out?  No.

Content information. When taking Practice Exams, we collect the question’s Reference Number and whether or not you answered the question right or wrong.  We do not collect any personal information in this section.  Why?  In an attempt to continue to improve the software, we use this data to see if any questions need to be re-reviewed and updated.  For example, if we see a specific question is scoring very high (high volume of students answering correctly), we might update the question to make it more challenging.  Can you opt out?  Yes, in the Settings section of the software.

Your software usage. We collect various bits of information regarding your use of the software, including test names, scores, answers you chose, dates of use, videos watched, articles read, flash cards viewed, matching categories attempted and scores, abbreviations answered and scores, and hangman words attempted and scores.  In addition, your Registration Code is saved along with these details.  Your personal information is not saved, but you can be identified by your Registration Code.  Why?  There are times we need to check this data in order to fix an issue in the software.  In addition, your instructor or internship director may be using a Monitoring tool, which displays a snapshot of your usage.  Can you opt out?  No.

Your computer’s identification number. We collect the MAC address of your computer.  Why?  This identifier is used as part of our routine monitor of software use in an attempt to prevent illegal piracy of the software.  Can you opt out?  No.

Your feedback and questions submitted by you. We collect any comments, star ratings, and questions submitted by you voluntarily through the software.  Why?  We may post comments and/or questions submitted by you on our website, social media channels, marketing materials, and the like .  Can you opt out?  Yes, by contacting us after your submission requesting your comments and/or questions are not shared publicly.

Web Apps:

Web apps, compatible with any device that connects to the internet, is software you log in from our website to use.

Your web app usage. We collect various bits of information regarding your use of the web app, including test names, scores, answers you chose, dates of use, videos watched, articles read, flash cards viewed, and matching categories attempted and scores.  In addition, your Activation Code is saved along with these details.  Your personal information is not saved, but you can be identified by your Activation Code.  Why?  There are times we need to check this data in order to fix an issue in the web app.  In addition, your instructor or internship director may be using a Monitoring tool, which displays a snapshot of your usage.  Can you opt out?  No.

Your Internet Protocol address (IP address). We collect the current IP address of your device. The IP address provides your general location/region in the world.  It does not provide an exact mailing address location.  Why?  This identifier is used as part of our routine monitor of web app use in an attempt to prevent unauthorized usage of the web app.  For example, if we see a login in New York, and then moments later see a login from the same account in California, then this gets flagged and reported to us as potential misuse.  Can you opt out?  No.

Your feedback and questions submitted by you. We collect any comments, star ratings, and questions submitted by you voluntarily through the web app.  Why?  We may post comments and/or questions submitted by you on our website, social media channels, marketing materials, and the like.  Can you opt out?  Yes, by contacting us after your submission requesting your comments and/or questions are not shared publicly.

Mobile Apps:

Mobile apps, compatible with Apple iOS and Google Android smartphones and tablets, are apps you purchase and install through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and use on your phone or tablet.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We collect any comments, star ratings, and questions submitted by you voluntarily through the mobile app.  Why?  We may post comments and/or questions submitted by you on our website, social media channels, marketing materials, and the like.  Can you opt out?  Yes, by contacting us after your submission requesting your comments and/or questions are not shared publicly.

Your name and email address (PantryShare Sync app only). For general usage of the app, no personal data is collected. To use the Share capabilities, there are fields for your name and email address when setting up a Shared Pantry. These fields are optional and are not required for using the Share capabilities. Why? The name may be used to display in the app. The email address may be used to recover your account and all your pantry and shopping list data. Can you opt out? Yes, by simply leaving those fields blank.

Data we do not collect in any of our desktop, web, or mobile apps

Payment Data

Personally Identifiable Information (PII).  Such as social security numbers, passport information, and drivers license information

Personal Health Information (PHI)
